How would you describe your morning routine? What do you typically do?
Very dependent on the night before. Usually, I wake up. That’s a good first step. Then I’ll yell at Alexa (not a person) to play some music to get me going. Whilst the music is groovin’, I’ll chef up some scrambled eggs and make a brew from my Nespresso machine. Now this is where the story varies. Am I tired? Or am I ready to go?
Okay so let’s say I’m tired. After my breakfast I’ll hop in the shower, brush my teeth, comb my hair and get dressed. Then I’ll walk to the subway and be on my “merry” way.
But what if I’m in ready to go mode? I’ll skip the shower and hop on the Citi bike and bike my way to work. I’ll then workout in the gym at work and shower in the locker room, doing the same morning routine in the comfort of my office.
Commuting in a big city, what is it like and what tips do you have about it?
Definitely always be alert and avoid eye contact with everyone. My new move is to just wear sunglasses so this way you can people watch without making people uncomfortable.
What is your go-to work outfit?
It definitely varies and there are a lot of options at a place like Ogilvy. But, I still have the essentials. You can find me with a cool pair of socks on and my Felix Gray glasses (gotta protect the windows to the soul).
What is something you always have at your desk?
You couldn’t catch me with stanky breath. Therefore I’ll always have gum and lifesavers. Also, I’m a big post it notes guy because if I don’t write it down, I won’t remember it.
What is your favorite spot in the office?
My desk next to Liza.
When you know it is going to be a challenging day at the office, what helps keep you motivated?
Every morning I wake up and think “Let’s get this bread”. That’s all it takes to be a winner.
What kind of projects have you worked on so far in this current rotation?
I’ve done a ton of stuff to help each of my teams. The biggest project of them all is converting all of my coworkers into my best friend.
Lunch break! What do you do for lunch?
This question is literally hysterical. Lunch? Haven’t heard that word in years..
What do you wish someone had told you day one?
Even though you are an associate, your coworkers don’t see you as one. You are a valuable asset to your team and you should think of yourself as such.
How do you break up your work day?
Putting in my AirPods and rocking out to some pump up music.
If you had to pick, what has been your favorite thing about working at Ogilvy?
The intelligence and dedication shown by your coworkers here is infectious. It makes me a better worker and I want to do whatever it takes to make sure I don’t fail my teammates.
Are you involved in any professional networks? If so, which ones and what do you like about it?
How do you wind down after a long day at work?
Watch whatever game is on with my roommates while we chef up some dinner.
When you are not in the office, what do you like to do around NYC?
Big fan of walking around SoHo or going out with my friends in LES/East Village.
An Ogilvy secret revealed…
Everyone is willing to help.
