How would you describe your morning routine? What do you typically do?
First thing is to take my pup out. Usually get ready really fast and rush over. I try to get oatmeal in the mornings (it’s so good here) and coffee. Lots of coffee.
Commuting in a big city, what is it like and what tips do you have about it?
I am #blessed enough to say that I live a nice short 5 minute walk from work. I know it’s a pain to commute around New York so my tip is to give yourself time! It’s a rarity for you to make all the trains one after the other.
What is your go-to work outfit?
I usually go comfy, a sweater and jeans or some jogger-esque pants. I like to be in sneakers or boots. The office can be pretty chilly so sweaters are a must.
What is something you always have at your desk?
Water, snacks, and my daily vitamins. I’m a freak and take like 10 vitamins a day.
What is your favorite spot in the office?
The couches on my floor (7th) near the windows! Such a pretty view of the water.
When you know it is going to be a challenging day at the office, what helps keep you motivated?
Coffee and motivational pep talks in the mirror
What kind of projects have you worked on so far in this current rotation?
Because I’m in health and wellness and not assigned to one specific client, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. I’ve worked on a few new business pitches, production for a TV spot for one of our clients, have helped with finalizing websites, planning an event coming up next year, and just day-to-day organization work such as scheduling meetings.
Lunch break! What do you do for lunch?
Even though being on account management can be pretty busy, I always make time to grab lunch downstairs in the cafeteria with the other associates.
What do you wish someone had told you day one?
The world isn’t going to come crashing down when you mess something up, and you WILL mess something up!
How do you break up your work day?
I have an organized schedule of when I get up for snacks and coffee, and lunch itself usually breaks up my day.
If you had to pick, what has been your favorite thing about working at Ogilvy?
The associates program itself. The fact that we get to have a whole year of exploration and training before committing to a job is an incredible opportunity that most people coming out of college don’t get to have. I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world.
Are you involved in any professional networks? If so, which ones and what do you like about it?
Hell’s Kitchen – what is a cool local spot/restaurant/shop around the office you have found that you love?
Anejo, really good Mexican food! It’s right around the corner.
How do you wind down after a long day at work?
Cuddle with my dog and watch The Office
When you are not in the office, what do you like to do around NYC?
I love to explore – going to art galleries, walking around the city, Comedy Cellar on Thursday nights, brunch on the weekends, walking the dog.
Ogilvy Facts 101 – what is something interesting you have learned about Ogilvy as a company?
No one takes themselves too seriously
If you get to leave the office early…
Go spend some quality time with the pup! Also if I’m not out too late I’ll try to go to the gym (rarity)
An Ogilvy secret revealed…
The hot chocolate from the machines is wonderful
